Common questions about moving
Do I need to speak fluent German before I arrive?
Not necessarily. Many physios start working while still finishing their B2 certificate. You need to reach B2 level within two years. A good foundation makes things easier, but you don't have to be fluent on day one. Your coach will help you plan around it.
How do work and residence permits work?
Your employer starts the application at the municipality where you'll live. You register within 14 days of arrival. With a fixed contract, you get a B-permit (valid for 5 years). After that, you can apply for a C-permit (10 years). We walk you through every step.
How much does housing cost in Switzerland?
It depends on where you live. In cities, expect CHF 900-1,200 for a studio or CHF 1,400-1,800 for a two-bedroom apartment. In smaller towns and villages, it's significantly cheaper: studios from CHF 700, two-bedrooms from CHF 1,200. We help you find the right area.
What do I need to arrange before leaving?
Cancel your health insurance, deregister at your municipality, end energy contracts, cancel subscriptions, and inform your bank. We give you a personal checklist so nothing gets forgotten.
Can my partner come with me?
Yes. EU/EEA partners can move with you under family reunification. We guide you through the paperwork for your partner as well.
